Descripción ampliada Come and enjoy this trip that will take you to a part of Spain that looks like it could have been designed by Tolkien. The beautiful town of Laujar de Andarax, capital of the Alpujarra of Almeria, lies in a valley which is formed by the Sierra Nevada and Sierra de Gador, at 921 meters above sealevel.

Then we will be driving into the heart of “The Mountains of the Sun”, up to a hight of 2000 meters above sealevel, to the Mountain pass La Ragua, to descend on the other side of the mointains towards the village of La Calahorra. Along this villiage we reach Guadix, one of the oldest towns in Spain, established by the Romans. Guadix becomes important during the molsim period. With its own fortress, the Alcazaba, and its city wall, it develps into an important commercial center for the whole region. After the rconquest by the Christians the Cathedral was built, as well as many cave houses.

In the afternoon we visit a pottery in Alhabia. Very traditional and typical Spanish, where the art of potter has passed from father to son.
