With tall airy spires that seem to defy gravity and seemingly cartoonish artistic details, Gaudí’s most ambitious project challenges and stuns over 3 million visitors per year. Today, it’s the most visited building in Spain. Your English-speaking local guide, an expert in all things Gaudí, will share stories and anecdotes that will help you get the most from your visit.

We’ll marvel at the two stunning completed façades and eight dizzying towers inspired by the peaks of Barcelona’s holy mountain Montserrat. After more than 100 years of tireless work, the façade is still under construction and it’s easy to appreciate why. Our guide will share tales of Gaudí’s love affair with his final work, how he considered the project his personal holy mission and the great personal sacrifices he made to ensure its completion. Sadly, he would not live to see it finished. Such was the complexity of the design that despite taking on the project at 31 years of age, Gaudí only lived to see the completion of one facade, one tower, the apse and the crypt.

Our trademark Skip the Line access will bring us straight past the long entrance lines and into the heart of the Basilica. You’ll feel as though you have stepped into an alternate universe. Gaudí’s characteristic dislike for straight lines will become disorientingly evident as we pass beneath rows and rows of tree-like pillars. Though construction is ongoing and not estimated to be completed until 2030, much of the Basilica can be visited today. The entrance fees collected from groups such as ours continue to ensure enough funding to see Gaudí’s dream through to completion. The Basilica was consecrated and declared a minor Basilica in 2010 by Pope Benedict XVI.

Your experience includes a ticket to the very top of one of Gaudí’s dizzyingly high towers. Your guide will see to it that you make it to the elevator, after which you’ll be free to spend time enjoying the views of Barcelona and the cathedral below before heading back down. Tickets to the towers are limited and this is a great opportunity to see the Sagrada Familia from another perspective and to observe the colourful pinnacles and construction works from close up and to appreciate the monument in all his complexity and from all its angles!

Requirements
We regret that we are unable to accommodate guests with wheelchairs or mobility impairments on our tours. We are also unable to accommodate pushchairs or strollers on our tours.
Entrance into the Sagrada Familia requires a strict dress code. You need to be dressed conservatively to get in to the churches, with the knees and shoulders covered. We cannot be held responsible for refused entry due to improper dress.
All children under 6 years can not access to the Tower.
Please note that the lift is only available to ascend to the top of the tower, for the descent you will have to use the stairs. Not suitable for people who suffer from vertigo.

Recommendations
As this tour involves a fair amount of walking, please bring comfortable shoes. Lugar
