Descripción ampliada We will leave from Santander towards the cable-car station of Fuente Dé at 8:00 am to be there around 10:00 am. Once there, we will take the cable car to go up to the upper station, this will only take us 4 minutes and we will be at a height of 1,823m above sea level. You will love the breath-taking views from this place. We will spend here about 1 hour to take photos and to explore the closest surroundings of the station.
After this first stop, go towards the Monastery of Santo Toribio. This is one of the four Holy places for Christianity in the world as it houses the Lignum Crucis, which is the largest preserved piece of wood of the Cross of Jesus.

We will then go to Potes, this small village is considered as one of the nicest villages in Spain. We will have lunch there and enjoy some free time for shopping. We will have a “lebaniego stew” for lunch, this is a typical dish of the region and it consists in a stew with chickpeas and meat.

Finally, we will start our trip back to Santander where we should arrive about 19:30 pm.
