Descripción ampliada Madrid was a city built to be a capital, what it has been since 1561. It boasts many attractions like the Prado Museum and the largest European palace, the Royal Palace. There is so much to see, so much to know and so much to taste here that time is never enough. But we will give it a try! Travel to moorish times at the Plaza Mayor, passing then to the medieval ages. This square has remained equal since the Austrian Habsburg rule (16th to 18th centuries).

Then our history will go on into the French Napoleonic occupation, the Spanish Civil War and Franco’s dictatorship in the 20th Century. For some aromas we hop to the Mercado de San Miguel, to get closer to the Madrileños’ lifestyle and gastronomic habits. The Paseo del Prado presents us with grand avenues and stunning architecture, from Art Deco to Neo-Mudéjar. Have a look at the Palacio de Cibeles, on the Cibeles mountain, as well as a nice sight to the Golden Triangle of old masters, the Thyssen Museum and the Reina Sofía Museum.

At Barrio de Las Letras you will breathe the same atmosphere that once inspired great writers like Miguel de Cervantes, Federico García Lorca and Ernest Hemingway. With a bit of luck, you will imagine yourself going off in adventures with Don Quijote. But the adventure doesn’t stop there in this tour of the capital of the sunny country of Spain!
