This beautiful palace complex is the culmination of centuries of Islamic art and architecture in Moorish Spain, the flowering of a unique culture. This guided tour in the company of an expert in the history and artistic and cultural heritage of the Alhambra will really bring this stunning building to life. Then experience the luxury of Moorish Spain for yourself with a visit to a Hammam.

The Alhambra is located on a hill overlooking the city. It was originally built as a fortress in 899 before being converted into a Royal Palace by Yusuf I, Sultan of Granada. Your knowledgeable guide will show you around the old fortress, known as La Alcazaba, the Royal Palace Complex with its Harem, the Court of the Myrtles with its large pond used for cooling the buildings in the summer heat, the magnificent Hall of the Ambassadors and the breathtakingly beautiful Court of the Lions and the Hall of the Abencerrajes. We’ll also visit the Generalife Palace and Gardens used as a summer palace and retreat by the Nazrid emirs of Granada. Admire the Patio de la Acequia with its long pools framed by flowerbeds, fountains, colonnades and pavilions, and the Sultana's Garden, thought to be inspired by the style of mediaeval Persian Gardens.

The after a short afternoon break it’s time to experience the luxurious sensuality of a hammam. Relax to the sound of trickling water, the exquisite décor and the aromas of essential oils and fragrant mint tea. The hammam is a new concept in well-being, going back to the simple refinement inherited from Al-Andalus. Enjoy baths of different temperatures as your senses dissolve into a state of sheer bliss. Transfer service for hotel in the centre of Granada will be between 9.15 and 9.45am.
If your hotel is located outside of this area you should make your way to the Welcome Visitor Center ( Paseo de la Sabika, 15) between 9.45 and 10am.
There is no transfer service for the arab bath so you will need to make your own way to calle Santa Ana 16 for 4pm.

Requirements

Valid passport or photo ID is required.
All guests visiting the Alhambra must bring a valid ticket, including children and babies. Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
Due to the Alhambra's reservation policy, you are unable to reschedule this tour. Please ensure you arrive at the meeting point at least 15 minutes prior to the tour start time. If you are late, you may not be allowed to enter, and no refunds will be allowed.
